I need your opinion about how to tell a girl I like her?

Okay, so there's this girl that I like. I've been through a lot, but I'm completely afraid of her. I shake when I try to talk to her, and it's just not a pretty sight. I've liked her for two years now from afar, and I thought that was a little too long. I wanted to tell her how I felt about her, but I didn't know how, until an idea came to me the other day. We both like to write, and we just both wrote 50,000 word novels in a writing competition for this thing called "NaNoWriMo" (NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth). But I wanted to tell her. I don't think I would ever be able to do it in person, but we've been talking on AIM and stuff, texting even a little bit. I thought of something that I think she would just melt at finding out about, but I don't know how accepted it would be. I wanted to tell her through writing a short novel, first using fictitious character names, and then at the end, revealing who they really are, me and her. I've already started it, and I want to finish soon. Thanks
