What's a good yet inexpensive C flute for a high schooler? ?

Gemeinhardt 2SP is the standard model pretty good for someone that is not super serious about playing. If you have a more talented student you might want to invest in a more advanced flute, and the kind really depends on the musician. Have him or her go to the local music store and try out different models to see what fits best.
