What you think.......................?

I sort of get offended when people that claim to not be racist make comments like not all black people are ghetto just some are especially when people say that's just in low-income neighborhoods. Or when people say I have 2 black friends that speak proper english or that work hard. So in other words, a lot of black people fit into stereotypes but not all of them so that makes the ones that don't "okay to be around". I personally am a black female that comes from a low-income neighborhood. Being gheetto and unintelligent isn't rampant here. *sigh*. I have a good gpa and am a chem major, math minor in my last year. Its hard for me because of expenses and the financial aid. For example, a lot of low-income students have to go through the verification process which is a lot of work and very time consuming. Even though I turn in my fin aid application early it takes a lot more time with this process and scholarships are gone by that time even though I academically qualify. My point is that low-income people are not only just as hard working but sometimes more so i.e. Longer, more extensive fin aid application, etc. And that most black aren't ghetto, theives, thugs, etc. But when you're looking for it that's all you'll see.
